Lastly, make the effects of the camo gear transparent. These could be low xp, but potentially profitable or just a fun 5-15 minute chase in order to unlock the gear. The Feldip Weasel could have you on it's trail through all of the Feldip Hills, escaping ogres and wolves, maybe even fighting an ogre that ate it. Maybe the polar hunt starts in Taverley, moves to Rellekka, and requires searching the entire Hunting Area. This would increase the price of the drops. If they aren't meant to be a good xp option, make the rewards harder to achieve. Also, make it rewarding for requiring more effort and thought than other methods (sometimes). Make it more interesting than simply guessing which plant will create new tracks. However, it never gives decent xp rates and the rewards are also one-offs (with a possible exception of the jadinkos for their vines and seeds). Tracking: This method could be really fun. Otherwise, this is dead content as the rewards are essentially one-offs (three furs is enough for the entire camo outfits in each situation).
#Osrs pitfall trap xp per hour update
What needs changing is the mechanics of the Hunter method and a graphics update on the creatures. The game space is already there, the pitfall traps are already present, and the animals are already designed. I would love these methods to be remastered into a mini version of Big Game Hunter or something similar. Combine this with being the only method that can potentially kill you and this sucks. The failure rate was really high at low levels. Pitfall Traps: These methods were awful to attempt. While I'm glad to have completed this research and hopefully helped other players, I noticed a few things while trying various methods.ĥ3-67: Maybe increase the xp rates here to 65-80k xp/hr to reduce the sudden transition to 110,000 xp/hr from black salamanders as well as create competitors to tropical wagtails. I was able to have conversation in my clan chat comfortably while doing this methods. The catch rate is lower than the above methods making it more relaxing. Do these if you want to do hunter at a more leisurely pace. Do these because the the enhanced yaktwee stick is a comp requirement and it gives a small, but non-trivial 2% xp boost to other hunter methods.ħ3-75: Plover birds. This is because they buffed the chance of double or triple charm sprites spawning when using the enhanced yaktwee stick. This was 100,000 xp/hr with a yaktwee stick and increased to around 135,000 xp/hr with the enhanced version.

These are in the wilderness, but because of the 'Release All' option added to salamanders, this is not a profitable option for PKers, unless they just like to grief people.ħ2-75: Charm Sprites. I was getting 110,000 base xp/hr at 67 and this increased to nearly 160,000 xp/hr at 75. This option will likely be best for ironmen who may benefit from the greys/reds for Ranged training and a chanced at the baby chin.Ħ7-75: Black Salamanders. This would be around 50,000-60,000 base xp starting from 53. This leads to an odd situation where Viridian and Azure skillchompas as well as grey and red chinchompas give nearly the SAME xp/hr. Second, the base xp/catch was reduced for azures. First, the xp boost from catching multiple was taken away completely. These are all BASE values (meaning no boosts or urns).ĥ3-67/75: Chinchompas and Skillchompas. I was getting 36,000 experience/hr starting out! This increases to 55,000 xp/hr at 30 and up to 75,000 xp/hr at 60 Hunter. These were given a boost in their xp/catch which has made them an insane source of early xp. Can do Ruby Harvests from 15-19.ġ9-53/67: Tropical Wagtails. Can also do the Natural History quiz in Varrock.

My tldr answers can be found on the RS Wiki (note: this is only 1-75) and my detailed answers can be found in this spreadsheet.ġ-15/19: Feed ogleroots to rabbits. I created a fresh account and used only base xp rates.

I did this because there is a poverty of information prior to today about the best training methods pre-75 Hunter. TLDR: Hi, I started a project two weeks ago to find the xp rates for all of the Hunter methods in-game from level 1-74. The below is a more detailed look at xp rates as well some suggestions for game changes. Update as of November 2019: Tonix RS now has a solid video guide on YouTube I would recommend, especially for figuring out placement of traps.
